And you can open up a checking account to start with a small deposit, followed by a minimum deposit of only $500 on this particular CD. There are plenty of short term Certificate of deposits that are turning out to be some of the best cd rates out there. Since the future of Bank rate potentials is really unconfirmed at this point.
